What Makeup Products I Can’t Live Without
After a rather hectic encounter at security at the airport flying to Quebec, I learned that I went over the limit in liquids in my carryon bag. This trip was one of my first trips that I didn’t check a bag since we started traveling with a baby. I essentially had to pick which items can be confiscated, which items got to stay with me and assess if I wanted to risk missing our flight by heading back to baggage to check a bag. Chaos! So please learn from my mistakes and choose wisely when packing a carryon, don’t risk it and when in doubt, leave it behind or check your bag.
Here are the items that were going to make me risk losing my flight (which, by the way we made it just fine and on time!) I have included both real liquids and some other just good makeup products.
ELF Halo Flawless Filter ($14, Elf.com) I originally discussed this product when recapping my favorite Tiktok products. Resurfacing it for this post as well. If you are on the fence - do it! It is a less greasy and way more budget friendly version of the Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter. I have tried both and this Elf product is in my rotation for good.
Saie Dew Blush in Spicy ($25) While usually I would defend Rare Beauty Blush instead, when under (self-imposed) stress.. I went straight for this. I love the unique color and it gives the time-in-the-sun color. It is not a traditional pink blush so if that is your look, you won’t like this. If you are looking for something to wear now and help transition to fall, this is it.
Drunk Elephant Pronti Polypeptide Cream ($68) I have not a clue if this counted as a liquid or not, but it was getting on the plane with me. My skin has never been softer or this moisturized. Makeup goes on better when you have a perfect soft base!
Dream Coat Supernatural Spray ($12) I purchased the mini size and will definitely need the larger size in this as well. As someone with wavy hair, my hair is extra fizzy in the summer and humidity. To help tame some of the frizz, I use this before blow drying. This lives up to the hype on Instagram.
24-HR Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel ($26) OK I know that I was fine packing this and it was in no way in danger of being confiscated, but I just wanted to say I like this stuff and have been using it for years.
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint ($35) I don’t love wearing foundation in the summer, so this does the trick! I mix it with sunscreen and moisturizer for a good blended base.
What are some of your favorite makeup and beauty products you can’t live without?!
